  1. As a student in America and China

The method of education in China and America is pretty different so that a the life of the students in both countries are widely divergent. I will describe a one-day-life of me as a Chinese student and an America student from the food I ate, the sports I did and What kind of class I took and so on in my speech. Then, I will contrast both methods and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of them.

  2. My subject will be about how technology drives us away from each other instead towards each other as we humans believe it does. My subject will be something along the lines of "Auto-Correcting" Humanity and will be solely based off of Prince Rhyeas YouTube video. I will do some additional research on this subject but what I will try to achieve with this is to prove
the fact that iMessage, Twitter and Facebook are what we think are social networks, but instead they are anti-social networks. I'll compare my daily life in terms of technology usage to what it could be.

  3. I could tell my dad's story and how he got to be an nhl coach. How he came from a Highschool hockey player to a coach the won a Stanley cup. And being on of the youngest coaches to do it. And his journey to be an amazing nhl coach
I could also tell the story on how I use to be a bad kid in school with fights and bad grades and how proctor changed me and brought the best out in me. How this school is an opertunity to be someone new

  4. The subject I would like to talk about is how Proctor has affected my overall grades. At public school In was a kid who would come straight home from school and watch T.V. and then go to bed without ever doing homework or studying. But without those distractions here at Proctor and the structured study hall I have an optimal advantage in the way I can pursue my academic goals and perform at my best on quizzes and test and how proctor has done that for me from what I used to be.

  6. Privilege
Their are different types of privilege. A lot of people say privilege comes from wealth and money and that alone. How I believe privilege comes in all different forms. Family, and love top the list before wealth and money. Privilege form wealth and money ca grant vase opportunities but not as much as family and love, I would even argue family and one give more opportunities.

  10. My Hays speech is going to be on my life journey. The journey of me and my basketball career. This speech is going to also recognize sports and what they can do for kids lives. Although I didn't grow up in a rough neighbor hood or city, the game of basketball completely changed my life. I believe this speech is going to be very interesting and will come out very well.

  11. In my speech, I want to elaborate on the judgemental views of society and how people can never truly understand one another until they walk a day in another's shoes. I also want to discuss how many people no longer have common courtesy and how small, random acts of kindness are rare. These selfless acts, these simple things in life can go along way and are often the most precious. Somehow I also want to incorporate if people look at the bigger picture in life, the smaller, more painful things won't seem as big, how everything we do and experience is preparing us for the future. So don't live in the past, in the regrets you have, in the mistakes you've made, live in the moment. I plan to incorporate these ideas to plant a seed in people's minds, to make them realize how messed up parts of our society/community are and how easily those certain parts can be fixed.

  12. I would like to write my speech about my journey through the sport of ski racing and what I have learned from the failures and successes I have had through that journey. I want to share what lessons I have learned, and how the sport shapes me as a student and as a person here at Proctor. The reason I am here at Proctor is to ski and to get a fantastic education-- this means that the sport has clearly affected my whole life. My goal through this speech is to show my journey, failures, success and goals throughout the first term and past seasons. I want to try and show everyone what passes through the mid of a skier and my struggle to believe in myself and the lessons I have learned from my failures.

  13. In my speech I want to talk about how faith is one of the most important things someone can have. I will tell the story about how my brother got sick and is supposed to be dead, but is okay now. I also want to talk about my depression and how buddhism lifted me out of being suicidal. I will also talk about my current relationship with my parents, how it got to be that way, and how I have faith that it will get better.

  14. For my Hays speech I am going to talk about how the world discriminates and doesn’t understand “mental” disorders like OCD, anxiety, anorexia, depression, etc. I have had a lot of people in my life who have dealt with disorders like this. I hadn’t realized how wrong my thinking about these disorders was until they were brought to my attention through people close to me. I will also talk about what I have learned from watching those people close to me overcome their disorders. Some of the things that they have taught me have been the best advice I’ve ever received. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is: we can change the way we feel by changing the way we think.

  15. My speech is going to be about the proctor community. This is my first year at proctor and the transition was nice and smooth. Every teacher that I have met seems to be glad that I am here. I would talk about how the first few weeks went and the key students who really welcomed me into the community. I would also talk about my sister and how she played a very large role in me going to proctor and helping me transition.

  18. For my speech I will be writing about how many people including myself let amazing opportunities slip through our hands, opportunities that various people (parents, friends, family, faculty members) have worked hard to make us eligible for. An example of an opportunity that many people in our community neglect to take advantage of is our unique of campus programs, ocean classroom, Segovia Spain, ocean classroom, european art classroom, Costa Rica, and mountain classroom. (I thought this posted the other day sorry its late)
