Thoreau's Walden was written for a very specific audience. At its smallest, its intended audience is comprised of those Concord residents who had attended his lectures at the village lyceum and who had questions about the two years he had lived alone at Walden Pond.
Society is a joint-stock compony, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and the culture of the eater.
An American Romanticist is an individualist who pushes imagination and subjectivity in their writing. An American Romanticist is an optimistic writer, and loves emotion and realism.
Emerson believes that young scholars abuse books primary function by using them as teachers instead of guides. Emerson believes it is out duty to use nature as our classroom because nature is abundant everywhere and we can learn so much about ourselves from observing the ways of nature.
He sees too much work as a way to become a robot and unable to enjoy life, this is different that Jefferson and Franklin because they see hard work as the only way to success.
Thoreau means experiences when he states "The Finer Fruits of Life", for example fine wine, to experience the finer fruits of life you need time to become refined in taste. People often mistake the finer fruits of life to be money nad luxuries because they think that money is the key to success and happiness.
Although Proctors curriculum and their approach to educating students does not fulfill the expectations Emerson would like, Proctor offers many off-campus and extra curricular opportunities for a student to expand their knowledge by the teachings of nature and experience.
